Barakat hosts first speaker series on Afghanistan

As opinions abound about how to fix the situation in Afghanistan, typical Afghans, particularly women and girls, are overlooked and disempowered. Hosted by Barakat, "Defeating the Taliban through Education" had Prof. Nick Mills, author of KARZAI – The Failing American Intervention and the Struggle for Afghanistan, discuss the birth of democracy in Afghanistan, the challenges it faces, and how Afghan citizens can be empowered through education to overcome the Taliban. Thanks to all who came!
